Guylines developed by Exped, are ultralight and static with a tear force of 400 lbs/180 kg. This prevents the cord from stretching and tearing in high winds which otherwise leads to flapping of the fly and structure and ultimately to fracture of the poles.
The guylines have a Dyneema core and polyester mantle. Dyneema is 15x stronger than steel and 40% stronger than Kevlar of the same weight.
