The FlatValve Technology, an industry first in mats, was granted the Industry Award 2009 at the Outdoor Tradeshow in Friedrichshafen, Germany.

Smart FlatValve Technology: Exped is the first manufacturer worldwide to incorporate these durable, easy to use valves in selfinflating mats. Two flat valves, one for inflation and one for deflation are found in the mat. One-way flaps on the valves hinder air from escaping during inflation, as „selfinflating mats“ usually need a couple of breaths of air for topup and prevent air from re-entering during deflation and roll-up. Flat in design, non protruding, of soft PU and without sharp edges makes these valves more durable than traditional ones.

Customise fit to your body ergonomics and sleeping behaviour with the FlatValve technology of the Exped mats: once the mat has been inflated completely and you are lying on it, pressure can be released by pressing on the one-way flap of the open inflation valve. Release air through short bursts until you find the ideal stiffness of the mat for your sleeping position.

Supersoft yet durable fabric: the resilient polyester tricot fabric with embossed honeycomb structure is comfortable next to skin and slip-resistant. The laminated airblock film is of PUEther. It is absolutely hydrolisis resistant making it leakproof even if humidity accumulates during inflation.

• 4 corner eyelets and included toggles allow two or more MegaMats to be coupled.


• Horizontal cores in the ultralight foam reduce the weight of this large and thick mat to acceptable
  levels.


• The filling: our new ultralight open celled PU foam weighs 13 kg/m3. Naturally free of contaminants (e.g. CFK) and fulfills the Ökotex 100 Norm.


• Seams are high frequency welded and durable.


• The stuffsack is large enough for easy packing and included with the mat. It can be used as a pillow when stuffed with spare clothing.


• The included Mini Pump is ideal for topping off air after the selfinflating process has slowed and a harder mat surface is required.
